Dryer Balls: No need for Bounce

Day 22 – Another Christmas gift for the family were dryer balls. I know, right? How exciting! But, these balls are pretty special. The dryer balls I purchased are made from 100% wool from New Zealand, who happens to have a reputation for humane and responsible sheep ranching and wool harvesting. That alone is pretty awesome. However, for those that need some more convincing, let me have Smart Sheep* explain:

  1. As the wool balls bounce around, they lift and separate the clothing, increasing room for hot air to flow. This process removes moisture at a faster rate, while softening clothing.
  2. Each ball is reusable and lasts 1,000 or more loads, typically 2-4 years.
  3. Fabric dryer sheets are single-use disposable products that use harsh chemicals to soften clothing. This is bad for the environment, your skin and your dryer.

So, we are leaving the Bounce fabric softener dryer sheets behind and letting the dryer balls do all the work.

*There are countless brands of dryer balls out there. Be sure to check out the reviews.

Tomorrow, a company that recycles just about everything.
